The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacManus takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Dawson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dawson has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

MacManus is looking to control Dawson's arms but Dawson gets an underhook and turns him. Now MacManus has his back to the cage.
Dawson is pressed up against the cage. MacManus has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dawson down to the mat. Dawson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dawson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits MacManuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

MacManus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
MacManus gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Dawson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! MacManus is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

A relieved looking Roger Dawson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
