Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Mikhail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drevin Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drevin Bell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Abraham Mikhail!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drevin Bell!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bell darts in and clinches Mikhail up against the cage.
Bell throws a punch but it's blocked by Mikhail.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bell.
Bell lands with a light punch inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mikhail.
Mikhail wants a takedown but no success here.
Bell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mikhail backwards.
Mikhail drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikhail has Bell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mikhail drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mikhail is defending well for now.

Mikhail wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bell tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mikhail tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bell smiles and moves away.

Bell drives through and clinches with Mikhail against the cage.

Bell pushes off an throws an elbow but Mikhail leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Mikhail is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bell is defending well.

Bell has clasped his hands together around Mikhail's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bell working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Bell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Mikhail is breathing heavily.

Bell forces Mikhail back against the cage and clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mikhail backwards.

Mikhail breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Bell throws a punch but it's blocked by Mikhail.

Bell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Bell scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mikhail to see if he's OK.
Bell content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Mikhail connects with a solid leg kick.
Bell throws a hook to the side of Mikhail's head but Mikhail sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Drevin Bell seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Mikhail tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bell is trying to push Mikhail away but Mikhail has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mikhail knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bell on the ground.

Bell cracks Mikhail with a big right hand but Mikhail just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mikhail tries to bench press Bell off him but Bell keeps the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drevin Bell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Bell's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bell in particular looking to stall.
Bell winds up and cracks Mikhail with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bell content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mikhail!
Bell lands with some strikes.
Mikhail is trying desperately to improve position.

Bell has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mikhail's face.

Bell is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Mikhail is forced to tap! Great finish!
