The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomber scores with a nice right hand.
Carthew on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bomber. Bomber obviously looking to wear him down.
Carthew tries for a takedown but Bomber circles away easily

Carthew shoots in for a takedown but Bomber shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bomber fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carthew looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bomber enables Carthew to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bomber manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Carthew working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bomber doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bomber manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bomber tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carthew was well out of range. Poor timing from Bomber.

Carthew on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

The crowd cheers as Bomber lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carthew doesn't seem phased though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Carthew or perhaps it was just good defense by Bomber, which made it look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
