Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddie Malingo!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez throws a predictable looking body shot
and Malingo counters with a nice uppercut.
A swing and a miss from Valdez.
Valdez lands with a kick to the ribs.
We've been told by Valdez's head coaches at The Million Dollar Performance Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Valdez has closed the distance and engaged Malingo in a clinch.
Valdez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Malingo.
A head punch on the inside from Valdez fails to land.
Malingo tries to pull guard but Valdez holds him up against the cage and eventually Malingo drops back down to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valdez throws the kick towards the body but Malingo avoids it.
Malingo's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Valdez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Malingo scrambles back to his feet.

Valdez throws a hook but Malingo avoids it easily.
Valdez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Malingo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Valdez finds it's way round the side to connect with Malingo's head.
Valdez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Malingo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Valdez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Malingo. That did some damage!
Malingo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Valdez cracks Malingo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

And Malingo tries to counter it with a takedown but Valdez pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Malingo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Eddie Malingo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
