The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardbrandt lands with a hook. Bentley tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Rod Bentley has been cut.
Gardbrandt swats away the attempt to clinch by Bentley.
Gardbrandt looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Gardbrandt throws a sloppy head kick
and Bentley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Bentley pushes Gardbrandt up against the cage in a clinch.
Bentley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Gardbrandt gets underhooks to prevent Bentley's takedown attempt.

Bentley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gardbrandt connects with a single shot there.
Bentley tries to clinch there but Gardbrandt circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bentley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bentley stuffs the takedown attempt from Gardbrandt . Gardbrandt gets slowly back to his feet.

Gardbrandt moves into the clinch successfully.

Gardbrandt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gardbrandt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Bentley wanted to stand there but Gardbrandt had control of the position.

Gardbrandt has his feet on Bentley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Gardbrandt throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Bentley's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Gardbrandt dives in looking to finish as Bentley flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Gardbrandt 's strikes! Gardbrandt is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Bentley's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Bentley was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
