Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Snake Eye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demitrious Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Snake Eye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demitrious Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eye fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Eye fails to land the takedown.
Johnson looks for a takedown but Eye sprawls well.

Eye shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Eye showed some decent athleticism there.

Eye looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Johnson gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Johnson is looking for a triangle but Eye pushes his legs off easily.
Eye throws an elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eye's guard. Nice move by Johnson!


Eye is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Eye keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Eye keeps moving.

Eye has momentary wrist control but Johnson slips an elbow through the middle.
Eye trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Eye looking for subs off his back but Johnson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eye's head.
Eye knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Eye is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Eye looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Eye is looking to improve his position.
Johnson is keen to just control but Eye is a slippery customer.
Eye is trying to get back to full guard.

Eye looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Eye looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snake Eye. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Eye.
Eye fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eye tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eye to the ground. Eye escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eye half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Johnson dives in and grabs Eye's left leg, looking for a takedown. Eye pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Eye tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Eye shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Eye's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Eye is breathing heavily.
Eye shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Eye sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Eye swivels and escapes.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eye tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eye to the ground. Eye escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Snake Eye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demitrious Johnson.
Eye shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eye gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Eye drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johnson can't do much from the bottom here.

Johnson parries the strikes from Eye easily there. Eye is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Johnson to escape.

Johnson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Eye is staying active.

Eye working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Eye throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Johnson is trying to control Eye's posture but Eye avoids it.

Eye throws an elbow but Johnson slips to the side and avoids it well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Eye working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Eye is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johnson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Eye.
Johnson is looking to reverse the position.
Johnson wants to control but Eye postures up.
Johnson is trying to get back to half guard.

Eye tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Eye swings around for an armbar but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Eye's guard.

Eye escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Eye is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Johnson with a flurry of punches that miss.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snake Eye dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Eye shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Eye swings around for an armbar but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Eye's guard.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Eye keeps moving.

Eye looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Johnson has picked Eye up and slammed him! Eye can't keep hold of the triangle and Johnson manages to pass to side control!
Eye on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Eye tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eye is not content to let Johnson control the position.
Eye is trying to escape the position but Johnson is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Eye is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Johnson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Johnson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Johnson wants to control but Eye is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Eye is looking for a sweep.
Eye is working hard here to advance position.
Johnson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Johnson with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Eye tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
Johnson wants to pass to mount but Eye is defending the position.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eye keeps working.

Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Eye defends the submission attempt.

Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Demitrious Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
