The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maygregor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Williams tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maygregor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Williams somewhat.
A jab from Maygregor finds it's way through Williams's defenses.
Williams walks into a straight right hand from Maygregor.
Nice jab there from Maygregor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maygregor goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nice body punch from Maygregor.
Nice sprawl there from Maygregor as Williams shoots in.
Maygregor leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Coner Maygregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Williams.

Maygregor throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Maygregor tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg.
Williams wants to control but Maygregor is keeping him busy.
Maygregor is trying to maintain the position but Williams is very close to passing his half guard.
Williams trying to mount his opponent but Maygregor defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maygregor tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control.
Maygregor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground.
Williams trying to pass the guard but Maygregor defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Williams moves to back control.
Maygregor trying to control the action but Williams just sinks the hooks in.

Williams is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Maygregor with him. Maygregor is trying to defend but Williams has an arm under the chin now! Maygregor grimaces and is forced to tap out!
