Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akkan Kubilay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Speilding (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Speilding will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speilding cracks a nice hook into Kubilay's ribs.
Speilding falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kubilay counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kubilay wants to pass the guard but Speilding is defending well.
We've been hearing good reports from Kubilay's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Kubilay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Speilding's head.
Speilding won't allow Kubilay to pass to mount.

Kubilay seems to be working for a kimura but Speilding defends the submission attempt.
Kubilay winds up and cracks Speilding with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speilding is controlling Kubilay's trapped leg to prevent Kubilay from advancing to side control.
Speilding is in trouble now - Kubilay has advanced to mount!

Kubilay is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Speilding has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Speilding defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kubilay.
Kubilay throwing strikes here but Speilding is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Kubilay has hold of Speilding's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Speilding manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kubilay jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Speilding manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Kubilay tries to advance to mount but can't.
Speilding is looking for a sweep.

Kubilay is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Speilding knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kubilay is trying to get an arm triangle but Speilding is defending well.
Speilding really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kubilay. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Speilding tries to bench press Kubilay off him but Kubilay keeps the position.

Kubilay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Speilding has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kubilay tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Kubilay is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Speilding looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kubilay gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Speilding is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kubilay lets go of the hold and Speilding can pop his arm back in it's socket.
