Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atanase Teodor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Day comes to the cage accompanied by Last minute - Great day to choke you out. Teodor is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pots and pans banging . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Gary Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Atanase Teodor!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Day delivers a nice body kick.
Day just misses with a punch to the body.
Day checks the leg kick.
Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Teodor tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Teodor to the ground. Teodor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Teodor lands with a hook. Day tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Day looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Teodor goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A jab from Day finds it's way through Teodor's defenses.

and Day takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Teodor throws a sloppy head kick and Day moves out of range easily.

Day closes the distance and clinches up with Teodor, looking for a takedown. Day pushes Teodor against the cage but Teodor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gary Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Teodor uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Day.
Teodor takes a swing at Day's ribcage but misses.

Day fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Teodor on the side of the head.
Day feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Teodors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Day with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Teodor to score with a decent uppercut.

Day throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Teodor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Day tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Day ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Teodor moves away.
Teodor cracks Day with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Day throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Teodor's head.
Teodor lands with an uppercut that bounces Day off the cage and back into range.
Teodor connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Day's hands.
Day moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Teodor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

And Teodor responds with a good body kick, but Day manages to step out the way in time.

Day scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Teodor fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Day throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Teodor sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Teodor pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Day back to the cage. Teodor follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Teodor throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Teodor lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Teodor avoids a kick to the body.
Teodor fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Day on the side of the head.
Day fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Teodor manages to avoid it.
Teodor scores with a jab. Day acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Teodor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Day. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Day wants to control from the top but Teodor keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Day needs to keep his hands up - Teodor had a free shot at his head there.

Day manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Teodor on his heels. He'll look to pass Teodor's guard now, I'm sure.

Day thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Teodor's head.

Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but Teodor keeps working.

Day is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Teodor reverses the position - he's now on top in Day's guard.
Day has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Teodor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Teodor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Day swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Day has his foot on Teodor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Teodor works his way back into a safe position though.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Teodor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Teodor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Teodor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Day has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Teodor has managed to get both his arms back between Day's legs - danger averted.
