Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stones Mahones (ranked 1439 p4p, 178 weight class) and David Walker (ranked 8265 p4p, 719 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mahones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to This Is My BOOMSTICK. Walker is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: J.Cole - Rise and Shine. Stones Mahones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Walker!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mahones slips a jab and a cross from Walker.
Walker keeps Mahones at a distance using the push kick.
We've been hearing reports that Mahones has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Walker lands an overhand right.
Walker lands with an uppercut that bounces Mahones off the cage and back into range.
Walker has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
David Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walker can do anything to dispel that myth.

Walker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mahones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Walker tries to lock up and control but Mahones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Walker is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Mahones is staying active.

Mahones's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Walker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mahones scrambles back to his feet.

Mahones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

David Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Walker!
A less than humble David Walker misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Stones Mahones spoke after the fight, saying 'That sucked... Remember to shop smart...Shop S-Mart.'.
