Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Minor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Head Coach has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 3, fighting out of London, Head Coach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerald Minor!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minor keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Coach.
Coach has been working on his boxing with his coaches at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ) in the buildup to the fight.
Minor with a jab.
Coach getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Minor misses with a straight left.
A jab from Minor finds it's way through Coach's defenses.
Nice defenses there by Minor.
Minor flicks out a counter leg kick but Coach steps away.
Minor sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Minor misses with an uppercut. Coach saw that one coming.

Coach ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

A nice leg kick lands there from Minor.
Coach bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Coach cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Good leg kick by Coach there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Coach misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Minor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big left from Minor misses.
Minor paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Minor has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Coach throws out a loose jab but Minor uses good head movement to avoid it.
Minor was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Minor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coach manages to avoid it.
Minor lands a nice hook to Coach's body. Coach takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Minor looks to score with a jab to the body but Coach is just out of range.
Coach tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Minor paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Minor dives in and scores a takedown into Coach's guard.

Minor controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Minor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Coach lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Coach trying to control the position from guard on top but Minor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Coach slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Coach keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Minor's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Minor isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Coach stacks Minor on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Coach!

Coach has control of an arm but Minor manages to advance to Coach's back!

Minor keeps control of the position easily here as Coach tries to buck him off.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gerald Minor dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Minor loads up on a big right hand but Coach slips the punch.
Minor takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Minor is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Coach's half guard.

Coach has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Minor is on him like a limpet, forcing Coach back against the cage.
Coach throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Minor is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Coach is defending well.
Coach lands a nice knee to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Minor avoids the elbow strike from Coach, against the cage.
Minor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Coach walks away with a smile on his face. Minor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Minor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Coach was well out of range. Poor timing from Minor.
Minor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coach avoids it really well and circles away.
Head Coach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Minor.
Minor walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Coach checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Coach uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Minor.
Coach throws a push kick but Minor slaps the foot to one side.
Coach misses with an attempted mid kick.
Minor tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Coach lands a slapping body shot.
Minor misses with a jab to the body
and Coach counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Minor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Coach uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Minor.
Coach moves forwards but Minor connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Coach throws a good cross that connects.

Coach bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Head Coach is winning the standup battle so far.
Coach throws a hook to the side of Minor's head but Minor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Minor throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Minor throws a lazy right hand but Coach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

enabling Minor to counter with a crisp jab.
Minor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Minor lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Minor shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Minor showed some decent athleticism there.
Minor is trying to control. Coach wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Minor is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Coach is looking to control Minor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Coach avoid being mounted?
Coach slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Minor won't allow Coach to sweep him here.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A little feinted left hand from Coach on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Coach goes for a double leg but Minor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Minor continues to drive forward.

Minor is looking to chop away at Coach's legs.
Minor tried to score with a low kick but Coach checks it.
Donk. Coach catches Minor right on the button with a cross.
A telegraphed right hand from Coach misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minor wants to land a leg kick but Coach is out of range.
Coach uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Minor.
Coach throws a head kick that misses.
Coach throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Minor sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Minor will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Minor takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Coach tries to score with a low kick but Minor moves his leg out of the way.

Coach moves into the clinch successfully.

Coach is trying to trip Minor. He has hold of a leg but Minor is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Coach persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Minor looking for a guillotine here but Coach defends easily.

Minor has his foot on Coach's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coach works his way back into a safe position though.
Minor controls Coach momentarily but Coach frees himself.
Coach wants to control from the top but Minor keeps moving.

Coach got a little sloppy there for a moment and Minor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coach has managed to get both his arms back between Minor's legs - danger averted.

Coach stands and throws Minor's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Minor isn't going anywhere.
Minor tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Coach controlling the position.
Coach throwing shots but missing, from side control.
You can see the frustration on Minor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Minor wants to control but Coach postures up.

Coach is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Minor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Minor trying to remain calm as Coach controls from the top position.

Coach in side control lands a decent elbow.
Coach slows the pace down.

Coach tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coach has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Minor is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Coach seems to be working for a kimura but Minor defends the submission attempt.
Minor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Minor.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Head Coach showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Coach has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
