Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darryl Haze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson's entrance music is Hypnotize - The Notorious B.I.G.. A fine choice. Haze has chosen Border Patrol - Eek A Mouse as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 3, fighting out of London, Slade Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Darryl Haze!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haze takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wilson is looking to score with low kicks.
A low kick from Haze is predictable there
and Wilson counters with a nice leg kick.
Wilson misses with a takedown attempt
and Haze counters with a nice uppercut.
A combination from Wilson does no damage.
Slade Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haze waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wilson.
Wilson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Haze.
Wilson throws a body punch but Haze moves out of range.
As Wilson backs off Haze throws a huge counter combo but Wilson manages to avoid it all.
Haze cracks a nice hook into Wilson's ribs.

Haze takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Wilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wilson drops back looking for a leg! Haze is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Haze manages to kick Wilson off! Wilson jumps back into Haze's guard.

Wilson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wilson wants to pass the guard but Haze is keeping the position.
Wilson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wilson is looking to work some ground and pound but Haze has wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Haze keeps working.

Wilson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Haze has escaped the position, nice work there.
Wilson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Haze is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wilson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Haze takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Haze has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Wilson.
Haze avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wilson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Haze doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Haze pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Wilson is looking to counter punch.
Wilson lands a really nice looking cross but Haze seems unphased.
Wilson connects with a leg kick. Haze looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Haze was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wilson wants to control from the top but Haze keeps moving.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wilson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wilson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Haze at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wilson.
Haze throws out a counter right but Wilson avoids it with no problem.
Haze moves away from the strike by Wilson.
Wilson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wilson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wilson. Haze does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wilson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Haze counters with a nice uppercut.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wilson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Wilson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wilson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Haze wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Haze has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Wilson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Haze has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wilson but great work by Haze.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Haze lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wilson backs up against the cage.
Wilson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Haze napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wilson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Haze is not content to let Wilson control the position.
Wilson landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Wilson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Wilson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Haze knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Slade Wilson.
Well Wilson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In defeat, Darryl Haze stepped up to the mic, saying 'I lost because I was spat on by a venomous snake on my way to the arena and I had trouble seeing on account of the bright lights in my dressing room. I had blurred vision and numbness in my neck, eyes, arms, and lower torso. No way I would have lost otherwise!'.
