PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Verama (ranked 120 p4p, 14 weight class) and Doctor Doolittle (ranked 213 p4p, 31 weight class). Verama kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Swing It Away. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Verama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Doolittle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Verama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Doolittle defends well.

Verama postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Doolittle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Verama, into his guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Verama's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Verama has his foot on Doolittle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doolittle works his way back into a safe position though.
