PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shark Attack (ranked 981 p4p, 137 weight class) and Will Genia (ranked 943 p4p, 130 weight class). Shark Attack had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Attack fails with a takedown attempt.
Attack misses with the combination.
Attack closes the distance and clinches up with Genia, looking for a takedown. Attack pushes Genia against the cage but Genia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Attack walks into a left hand.

It looks like Shark Attack has been cut.
Attack walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Attack is rocked!
Genia scores with a nice head shot.
Oh Attack is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Attack shoots in looking for a takedown. Genia tries to sprawl out of it but Attack keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Genia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Genia looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shark Attack. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Attack tries to close the distance and clinch up but Genia swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Attack moves into the clinch successfully.

Genia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Genia cracks Attack with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Attack tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Genia pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Attack is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Will Genia!
