Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Yurich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Miller!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller shoots and misses
enabling Yurich to counter with a crisp jab.
Yurich lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Yurich lands with a hook. Miller tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Yurich stuns Miller with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yurich throws a hook but Miller avoids it easily.
Yurich falls off balance throwing a combination
and Miller counters with a two punch combo.
Miller darts in looking for a takedown but Yurich gets double underhooks and turns Miller into the cage.
Yurich is looking to counter punch.
Yurich slaps away a takedown attempt from Miller, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've been told by Yurich's head coaches at Fight Factory that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Henry Yurich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Miller.
Miller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yurich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miller somewhat.
Yurich takes a swing at Miller's ribcage but misses.
Miller takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Miller misses with a wild body shot.
Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yurich swivels and escapes.
Yurich is looking to counter punch.
Yurich keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yurich finds it's way round the side to connect with Miller's head.
Miller is rocked!
Yurich thuds his right hand into Miller's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Miller is still on wobbly legs! Can Yurich finish him?
Yurich uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Miller.
Miller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yurich closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Miller! Yurich dives in looking to finish! Miller is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Yurich!
After winning the bout, Henry Yurich thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
