Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harold Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Farouk Al Ahwei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shipman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Amazing. Al Ahwei comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Whirling Madness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Farouk Al Ahwei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Farouk Al Ahwei!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Ahwei sizes up Shipman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A combination from Shipman does no damage.
Al Ahwei lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shipman's sensitive parts.
A jab from Al Ahwei finds it's way through Shipman's defenses.
Al Ahwei stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Al Ahwei wants it to stay on the feet.
Al Ahwei throws the kick towards the body but Shipman avoids it.
We've been hearing reports that Shipman has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Shipman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shipman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Al Ahwei felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

You can see the frustration on Al Ahwei's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Al Ahwei is looking to reverse the position.

Shipman stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Al Ahwei has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Shipman manages to get his head free but now Al Ahwei has transitioned to an armbar! Shipman grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Al Ahwei! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
