Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sean Obrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Obrien.
Griffin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Obrien will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Griffin darts in trying to clinch
and Obrien counters with a two punch combo.
Obrien tries to clinch up but Griffin circles away and keeps his distance.
Obrien smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Obrien's waist but Obrien gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.
A slow jab from Obrien misses its intended target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Obrien looks to land a combination but Griffin avoids it well.
Griffin now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Griffin takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Ryan Griffin has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Obrien wants to clinch up but Griffin keeps it at a distance.

Griffin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
A punch combination from Obrien misses.
Griffin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Obrien shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin tries to improve position but can't.
Obrien in side control lands a decent elbow.
Obrien connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Griffin some visible discomfort.


Griffin is rocked!
Griffin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Griffin is still in real trouble! Can Obrien finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obrien is trying to control. Griffin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Griffin is pressing down on Obrien's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Griffin seems to have recovered his senses.
Griffin lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Obrien wants to stand but Griffin is controlling his posture from full guard.
Obrien lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Obrien postures up and lands a big shot to Griffin's brow.

Obrien is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Griffin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Obrien is looking to defend but Griffin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Obrien! Griffin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Obrien taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ryan Griffin!
A very excited looking Ryan Griffin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
