Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shintaro Nomo (ranked 2111 p4p, 323 weight class) and Carlos Soto (ranked 2413 p4p, 360 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Shintaro Nomo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Soto!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto throws a jab when Nomo was well out of range.
Nomo throws a big shot that misses.
Soto misses with an uppercut
and Nomo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Nomo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice uppercut there from Nomo.
Nomo moves out of range of the strikes.
Soto swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Soto digs a good hook to Nomo's body.
Soto missing with a left hand there. Nomo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Nomo counters with a nice uppercut.
Soto lands the left hand.

It looks like Shintaro Nomo has been cut.
Soto throws a looping overhand right but Nomo ducks down to avoid it.
Nomo lunges at Soto with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Soto's hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Soto looks to land a right hand but Nomo moved out of range.

Nomo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Soto was covering up waiting for the punch and Nomo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soto keeping moving, preventing Nomo from controlling successfully.

Nomo won't allow Soto to get back to his feet.
Nomo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nomo trying to control the position from guard on top but Soto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Soto is looking to stand back up but Nomo counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Soto.

Nomo drops an elbow to the side of Soto's head.

Soto tries to kick Nomo off but Nomo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nomo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Soto!
Nomo punching from mount but Soto doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Nomo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nomo throwing strikes here but Soto is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Soto wants to try and get back to his feet.
Nomo lands a big elbow.
Nomo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Poor strikes thrown by Nomo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Nomo misses with a head shot.
Soto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nomo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nomo looking to isolate an arm here. Soto doesn't see it coming and as Nomo extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Nomo!
