The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurtz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kurtz throws a nice looking combination but Slater bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Slater is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kurtz.
Slater misses with an uppercut
and Kurtz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Kyle Slater has been cut.
Slater lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Slater misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kurtz.
Kurtz steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Slater.
Kurtz stuns Slater with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Nice uppercut there from Slater.
Slater misses with a lunging right hand

and Kurtz counters with a nice right hand that sends Slater toppling to the canvas! Slater scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kurtz finish him?!

Slater is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slater throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That kick from Kurtz tenderised Slater's leg. Slater is trying to keep his angry face on.

Kurtz shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.
Oh Slater is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Slater being controlled here, momentarily.
Kurtz postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Slater covers up, he's hurt! Kurtz keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kurtz and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kurtz can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
