Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michio Kaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaku's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, We will rock you. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaku shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kaku was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kaku is trying to ground and pound but Powers uses the momentary lack of control by Kaku to regain half guard.

Kaku is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Powers is just riding it out for now. Kaku eventually gives up the hold.
Kaku trying to mount his opponent but Powers defends it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaku is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaku drops an elbow to the side of Powers's head.

Kaku looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Kaku is trying to control the action in half guard but Powers is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kaku is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Powers has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kaku seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Powers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaku. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Powers wants to improve his position but Kaku is controlling well.
Powers looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Kaku landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Kaku is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kaku is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Kaku is keen to just control but Powers is a slippery customer.
Kaku stalling away here and it's allowed Powers to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Kaku lands a couple of digs.

Kaku is in close to Powers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kaku postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kaku passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kaku unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Powers wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Kaku celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
