Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kapua Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kagekatsu Uesugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Francisco comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - Slaughtered . The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kapua Francisco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kagekatsu Uesugi!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Francisco ducks right into an uppercut from Uesugi.


It looks like Kapua Francisco has been cut.
Kagekatsu Uesugi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uesugi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Francisco moves into the clinch.
Francisco misses with the head strike.
Uesugi misses with a short punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Uesugi creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Francisco has Uesugi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Francisco pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Uesugi tumbling to the mat - Francisco dives into Uesugi's guard.
Francisco is standing up over Uesugi. Uesugi looks to escape but Francisco dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Uesugi parries the strikes from Francisco easily there. Francisco is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Uesugi to escape.

Uesugi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Francisco looks up at the clock and then as Uesugi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Francisco smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Uesugi is looking to regain half guard here but Francisco keeps moving and retains side control.
Uesugi is not content to let Francisco control the position.
Francisco has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The fighters are battling for position here. Uesugi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Francisco lands a couple of digs.
Uesugi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Uesugi is trying to control the position but Francisco postures up.
Uesugi keeping moving, preventing Francisco from controlling successfully.
Francisco throws a strike but Uesugi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Uesugi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Francisco on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Francisco tries to get out of the position.
Uesugi is continuing to stall.
Uesugi is looking to stand up but Francisco won't let him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Francisco is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Uesugi controlling from the top position.
Francisco is trying to keep Uesugi in close.
Francisco is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Uesugi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Francisco shoots in looking for a takedown. Uesugi tries to sprawl out of it but Francisco keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Uesugi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kagekatsu Uesugi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Uesugi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Francisco momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kagekatsu Uesugi will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kapua Francisco's cut.
That's time! Francisco's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Uesugi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Francisco.
Francisco tries to clinch but Uesugi moves out of range.
Francisco shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Uesugi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Uesugi stuns Francisco with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Uesugi bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Francisco's head backwards.
Francisco is looking to clinch.
Uesugi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uesugi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Francisco fails in his attempt to clinch.
Francisco ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Uesugi moves away.
Francisco wants to clinch up but Uesugi keeps it at a distance.

Francisco scores with a hook to the body. Uesugi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Uesugi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Uesugi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Francisco swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Francisco doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Kagekatsu Uesugi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Uesugi lands a glancing blow to the side of Francisco's head.
Francisco misses with a kick to the body.
It seemed like Uesugi was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Good shot there by Uesugi.
Uesugi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Uesugi keeps the fight on the outside.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Francisco.
Francisco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Uesugi manages to avoid it.

and Uesugi counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Oh Francisco is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Uesugi lands an uppercut, right on the button! Francisco tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
