These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vermeer works the jab nicely.
Vermeer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vermeer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Russell moves away.
Russell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vermeer circles away quickly and effectively.
Jochem Vermeer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vermeer connects with a body shot.
Vermeer ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Vermeer scores with the left hand. Russell knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like George Conor Russell has been cut.
Russell takes one to the side of the head.

Russell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Russell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vermeer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Russell scrambles back to his feet.

Vermeer cracks Russell with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!
