The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Williams tries to clinch up but Irvin circles away and keeps his distance.
Rick Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Williams throws a series of punches but Irvin moves out of range.
Irvin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Williams. Williams obviously looking to wear him down.
Irvin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Williams lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Williams.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Irvin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Williams.
Irvin drops Williams with a right and a left! Irvin comes rushing in but Williams regains his composure and manages to keep Irvin in guard.
Williams is rocked!
It looks like Rick Williams has been cut.
Williams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Oh Williams is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Irvin arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Williams's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Maurice Irvin!
