PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Temujin Khan (ranked 8905 p4p, 776 weight class) and Sam Witcher (ranked 3895 p4p, 474 weight class). Khan's entrance music is War. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Witcher cracks Khan with a good jab.

It looks like Temujin Khan has been cut.

Witcher throws out a powerful jab.
Khan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Witcher looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Khan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Witcher, as that shot connected.

Witcher gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Witcher lands a right hand that snaps the head of Khan backwards.
Witcher lands a nice uppercut.
Witcher scores with a shoulder strike.

Khan is trying to break the clinch but Witcher is controlling him.
Witcher gets through Khan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Witcher works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Still in the clinch, Witcher scores with a nice short uppercut.
Khan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Witcher is defending well.

Witcher lands a right hand.
Witcher pushes Khan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Witcher has Khan pressed against the cage, preventing Khan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A short body shot lands from Witcher as the two fighters clinch.
Khan is trying to drag Witcher to the mat but Witcher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Khan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Witcher pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Temujin Khan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
