Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Smirnoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald shoots in for a double leg but Smirnoff sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Smirnoff lands a big head kick that sends McDonald tumbling to the mat! Smirnoff takes a step backwards and waves McDonald back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Paul McDonald has been cut.

Smirnoff forces McDonald back against the cage and clinches.

McDonald stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smirnoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McDonald is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

McDonald is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
