Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Pedro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Pedro!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pedro gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cage trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cage passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Cage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pedro keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pedro can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cage working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cage is working Pedro over with some ground and pound from side control.
Check out the look on Cage's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cage controlling the position.
Pedro on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Cage misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Cage really is a fat lump.
Pedro has one of Cage's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Pedro is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cage misses with the ground and pound.
Pedro wants to control but Cage postures up.

Pedro prevents Cage from improving position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cage gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Cage moves into the clinch.

Pedro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pedro throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cage.

Cage rushes Pedro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pedro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cage is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pedro is defended easily by Cage.

Cage shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cage tries to pass to full mount but Pedro defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pedro blocks the body kick.
As Cage backs off Pedro throws a huge counter combo but Cage manages to avoid it all.
Pedro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cage avoids it really well and circles away.
Cage seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Pedro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cage pinned against the cage. Cage gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pedro shoots for a double leg takedown but Cage sprawls well. He's pushed Pedro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Henry Cage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis Pedro.

Cage looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pedro throws a strike from the bottom but Cage passes into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cage stands up.

Pedro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cage tries to avoid it but Pedro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cage to the ground. Cage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cage is looking for a counter combo.
Pedro shoots in looking for a takedown. Cage tries to sprawl out of it but Pedro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Henry Cage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pedro is breathing heavily.

Cage has Pedro up against the cage in a clinch.
Pedro stalling the fight.
Pedro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Cage decides to pull guard.

Pedro with a flurry of punches that miss.
Henry Cage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cage throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Pedro trying to control the position from guard on top but Cage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cage is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Pedro blocks an uppercut.
Cage lands a damaging elbow.

Pedro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cage avoids the head kick by Pedro.
Cage shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pedro as he jumps to the side.
Crunch! Pedro slams his shin into Cage's torso.

Cage closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pedro quickly recovers to half guard.

Pedro manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Cage keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Come on Pedro - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Cage tries to circle away but Pedro has him pinned against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cage manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pedro's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Cage gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Cage not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cage controlling the action here.
Cage lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Cage dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cage is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pedro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cage.
Pedro is refusing to be controlled, as Cage sits in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Pedro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pedro wants it to stay on the feet.

Pedro keeps the fight on the outside.
Cage lands with a kick to the ribs.

Cage gets a double leg takedown into Pedro's guard.
Pedro wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cage manages to pass to side control.
Pedro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cage wants to control but Pedro is keeping him busy.
Cage not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Cage is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Pedro!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pedro tries to lock up and control but Cage gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cage pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cage avoids the attempt from Pedro to control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cage wants to control the pace but Pedro is squirming around nicely.

Curtis Pedro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Henry Cage is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cage can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pedro is looking to escape.

And that's the end of the fight!
Henry Cage showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
