Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eldridge Hammond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ire Land (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eldridge Hammond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ire Land!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Land throws a right and a left that both miss.
Land fails with the takedown.
Hammond wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Hammond swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Hammond shoots in and gets a takedown into Land's guard.

Hammond loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Land is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Hammond fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Land avoids it really well and circles away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Land is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hammond has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hammond wants to control but Land postures up.
Land throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hammond went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Land swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Land fails to land with a series of punches.
No luck for Land with that takedown attempt.

Hammond has Land up against the cage in a clinch.

Hammond has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Land is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hammond has Land pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Land manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Land is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hammond gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Land.
Hammond jumps guard but Land stands there with Hammond around his waist. Hammond gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ire Land is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Hammond tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Land just stands there and leans against the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eldridge Hammond.
I think Land has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
