Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nils Holgersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gurney Halleck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holgersson comes to the cage accompanied by Theme. Halleck has chosen Simple Minds - Changeling as his entrance music. Gurney Halleck will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halleck comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Holgersson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Halleck napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Halleck throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Gurney Halleck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holgersson scores with a head kick. Halleck tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Holgersson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Halleck tries to avoid it but Holgersson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Halleck to the ground. Halleck escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Halleck throws out a counter right but Holgersson avoids it with no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A punch lands to the side of Holgersson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Holgersson is looking to clinch but Halleck is avoiding it.

Holgersson has been working on his balance at MM eh Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Halleck.

Holgersson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Halleck pulls his leg out and moves away.

Halleck throws a jab but it's blocked by Holgersson.

and Halleck counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Holgersson tries to score with a low kick but Halleck moves his leg out of the way.
Holgersson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A chopping leg kick lands by Holgersson.
Halleck throws a looping overhand right but Holgersson ducks down to avoid it.

Halleck closes the distance and pushes Holgersson back into the cage.
Halleck stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Halleck on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A short body shot lands from Halleck as the two fighters clinch.
Holgersson wants a takedown.
Holgersson prevents a body shot from Halleck.
Halleck tries a body shot but Holgersson blocks it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Halleck blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Halleck pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Halleck throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Halleck throws a body punch but Holgersson moves out of range.

Halleck closes the distance and clinches.
Halleck lands a hook that snaps the head of Holgersson backwards.
Halleck lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Holgersson misses with a short punch on the inside.
Halleck misses with a body punch.
Holgersson goes for a takedown attempt but Halleck pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That kick from Holgersson tenderised Halleck's leg. Halleck is trying to keep his angry face on.

Halleck lands a glancing blow to the side of Holgersson's head.

Holgersson is rocked!

It looks like Nils Holgersson has been cut.
Halleck is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Halleck misses with a hook. Holgersson ducked under it nicely.
Oh Holgersson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
