Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maxwell Booker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maxxy Baby!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booker rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Baby counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Baby looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Booker with a poor takedown
and Baby cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Booker doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Baby counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maxwell Booker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baby is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Booker moves out of range of the strikes.

Baby lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Baby counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Maxxy Baby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Booker drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Baby pulls Booker in close to his closed guard and prevents Booker from doing any damage or advancing position.

Booker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Booker won't allow Baby to sweep him here.
Booker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baby works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Booker lands a couple of elbows.
Booker passes Baby's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Baby is looking for a sweep. Booker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Booker trying to control from half guard but Baby is working away.

Booker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baby is just riding it out for now. Booker eventually gives up the hold.

Booker wants to free his trapped foot but Baby is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Booker moves nicely into side control.

Booker goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Baby rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Booker's guard! Nice work there by Baby!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Baby's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Booker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baby's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maxxy Baby showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Baby lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Baby makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Booker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Baby napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Baby tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Booker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Baby manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Booker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Booker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baby, who protects the arm well.
Booker postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Baby managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Booker.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Baby is looking for a sweep.

Booker goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Baby has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Booker but great work by Baby.

Booker is trying to get back to half guard.
Baby throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Booker has one of Baby's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Booker is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Baby's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Booker moves into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booker is looking to cinch up a triangle. Baby throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Booker's body to avoid the submission. Booker has instead reached around Baby's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Booker arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Maxwell Booker!

Maxwell Booker decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
