Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Taz Melodies!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melodies defending well as Katou loads up on a big left hand.
Katou has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Area51 in the buildup to the fight.
Katou walks into a stiff left hand from Melodies.
Melodies is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Melodies avoids the body shot from Katou.
Melodies looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Melodies has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Katou is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jab, jab by Melodies - just one landing.
Katou throws a combination that misses
and Melodies counters with a straight right hand.
Melodies connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Katou's hands.
It looks like Joe Katou has been cut.
Melodies avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Katou throws a hook to the side of Melodies's head but Melodies sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Katou takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Katou moves in looking to clinch but Melodies pushes him off.

Katou drops his hands momentarily and Melodies takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Oh Katou is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Melodies darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Katou's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Melodies before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Taz Melodies!
Taz Melodies decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
