PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Malako Lahua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Trump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Donald Trump was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lahua takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lahua will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Trump lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Trump defending well as Lahua loads up on a big left hand.
Trump slips a straight right by Lahua.
Trump moves away from the strike by Lahua.
Lahua takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Lahua feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lahua got a little sloppy there for a moment and Trump has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lahua has managed to get both his arms back between Trump's legs - danger averted.
Trump is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've been hearing that Lahua has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Trump is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lahua doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trump.

Trump wants to free his trapped foot but Lahua is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lahua is looking to control Trump's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lahua avoid being mounted?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Trump wants to pass the guard but Lahua is defending well.
Trump is stalling here. Lahua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Trump seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lahua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Trump wants to improve his position but instead Lahua has moved into half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lahua lands a nice short elbow.

That was a close round but I would say that Malako Lahua will probably get the nod.

Lahua will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Lahua shoots in looking for a takedown but Trump manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lahua's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Trump counters with a three punch combo that has Lahua backing up. Lahua nods at Trump to acknowledge the strikes.

Trump fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Trump clobbers Lahua with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Trump scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lahua doesn't seem bothered though.

Trump lands a nice shot that snaps Lahua's head back.

and Trump counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Trump counters with a series of strikes. Lahua will be more careful next time no doubt.
Trump has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lahua looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Trump makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Donald Trump showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Trump stalks Lahua and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lahua's face. Lahua staggers backwards, shaken.
Lahua looks to score with a jab to the body but Trump is just out of range.
Lahua throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A left and a right from Trump both land. Nice combination.
Lahua shoots for a double leg takedown but Trump sprawls well. He's pushed Lahua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
