PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winston Churchill (ranked 179 p4p, 30 weight class) and Aharon Sarkisyan (ranked 255 p4p, 38 weight class). Sarkisyan has chosen Ara Gevorgyan - Artsakh as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aharon Sarkisyan!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarkisyan throws a low kick but Churchill moves out of range easily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Churchill.
Sarkisyan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sarkisyan takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Sarkisyan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sarkisyan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Churchill.
Churchill scores with a decent looking hook.
Churchill slips under a jab from Sarkisyan.
Churchill looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sarkisyan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Churchill under the eye.
Churchill misses with an uppercut. Sarkisyan saw that one coming.
Winston Churchill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Churchill misses with a right hand
and Churchill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Churchill lands with an overhand left.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sarkisyan swats away the attempt to clinch by Churchill.
A countering left hand to the body from Sarkisyan misses.
Sarkisyan throws a solid leg kick but Churchill takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sarkisyan.
Churchill tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sarkisyan sizes up Churchill with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Churchill loads up on a big right hand but Sarkisyan slips the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

A punch lands to the side of Churchill 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Churchill is rocked!
Churchill tries to clinch but Sarkisyan moves away
and Sarkisyan scores with a counter punch that sends Churchill to the canvas! Sarkisyan smells blood - he's punishing Churchill with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Churchill has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
