Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamaal Clements (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clements comes to the cage accompanied by Tech N9ne - Straight Out The Gate. Jamaal Clements has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jamaal Clements!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, John Carter!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clements just misses with a punch to the body.

Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Clements utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Clements is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Carter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Clements working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Clements will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Carter working his ground and pound in the gym.

Clements has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Carter's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Carter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Clements seems keen to control Carter's posture.

Carter throws a big elbow that misses.
Carter is looking to work some ground and pound but Clements has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Carter connects with a couple of short punches.
Clements is trying to keep Carter in close.
Carter wants to control from the top but Clements keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clements continues to stall.
Clements looking to control.
Carter is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Clements wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clements as he jumps to the side.
A little feinted left hand from Clements on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Clements's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Clements is trying to control the position but Carter postures up.
Carter is working Clements over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Carter dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Carter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Clements.
John Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carter throws a push kick but Clements slaps the foot to one side.
It looked like Clements was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Carter.

Carter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clements's half guard.
Clements is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carter's back!
Clements keeps control of the position easily here as Carter tries to buck him off.
Carter trying to control the hands but Clements breaks the grip.
Clements is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Clements gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Clements gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Clements apologises and we restart here on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clements throws out a loose jab but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it.

John Carter has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Clements to see if he's OK.
Clements is working to avoid the ground and pound but Carter connects with a decent elbow.
Carter lands a huge shot from side control! Clements is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Carter!
John Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
