Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stanislav Guschin (ranked 2667 p4p, 392 weight class) and Connor MacLeod (ranked 2713 p4p, 402 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guschin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
MacLeod uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Guschin.
MacLeod feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Guschin's calf.
Guschin misses with an uppercut. MacLeod saw that one coming.

Guschin rushes MacLeod and presses him up against the cage.
I was talking to Guschin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
MacLeod can't get the takedown.
MacLeod lands a hook that snaps the head of Guschin backwards.
Guschin scores with an uppercut up the middle.

It looks like Connor MacLeod has been cut.
Guschin cracks MacLeod with a nice body shot.
Guschin is pressed up against the cage. MacLeod has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Guschin down to the mat. Guschin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

MacLeod is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guschin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
