Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Ahearn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Smith!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahearn just misses with a punch to the body.
Ahearn's jab looks to have found its range, popping Smith under the eye.


It looks like Jack Smith has been cut.
Ahearn slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ahearn seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Ahearn stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ahearn wants it to stay on the feet.
James Ahearn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Smith.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Ahearn uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith dives in and grabs Ahearn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ahearn pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
Smith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ahearn circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ahearn looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Ahearn.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Ahearn.

Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ahearn tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ahearn to the ground. Ahearn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A big left from Ahearn misses.
Ahearn leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ahearn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Smith in his tracks.
Ahearn takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Smith tries to land a front kick but Ahearn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ahearn tries to counter by clinching up but Smith breaks away and moves out of range.
Jack Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ahearn avoids a kick to the body.

Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Ahearn sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Ahearn, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Ahearn against the cage but Ahearn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Smith is defended easily by Ahearn.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Ahearn sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ahearn throws a jab when Smith was well out of range.
Smith misses with a low kick.
Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ahearn defends it nicely.
Ahearn misses with a straight right.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ahearn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Smith throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Ahearn moves into the clinch.
Ahearn lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Ahearn works on Smith's body with a couple of short punches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Ahearn.
Smith tries to pull guard but Ahearn won't allow it.
Ahearn digs a right hand into Smith's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Smith's gas tank.
Smith dodges an elbow strike from Ahearn.
Smith wants to take the fight to the mat but Ahearn manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ahearn lands a right hand.

Ahearn drops Smith onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Smith is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!


Smith is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ahearn loads up on a right hand - it lands flush and knocks Smith senseless! What a punch!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). James Ahearn!
