PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Montgomery Burns (ranked 7290 p4p, 686 weight class) and Bernard Crenshaw (ranked 21731 p4p, 830 weight class). Crenshaw has chosen Bodies - Drowning Pool as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Montgomery Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bernard Crenshaw!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns falls off balance throwing a combination
and Crenshaw counters with a big head kick but Burns shrugs it off.
Burns misses with a hook.
A little jabbing left from Crenshaw on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Crenshaw looks to score with a jab to the body but Burns is just out of range.
Burns misses with a low kick.
Crenshaw looks to land a right hand but Burns moved out of range.
Burns waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Crenshaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns misses with a hook
and Crenshaw counters with a left to the body.
Burns jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Crenshaw counters with a body kick.
Crenshaw throws a shot from downtown. Burns moves away and avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burns keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Crenshaw.
Burns swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Crenshaw connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Burns's hands.
Crenshaw misses with a straight right.
Crenshaw misses with a hook. Burns ducked under it nicely.
Burns fires out a quick counter leg kick but Crenshaw just manages to avoid it.
Burns bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crenshaw's head.
Burns misses with an uppercut. Crenshaw saw that one coming.
Crenshaw misses with a straight left.
Crenshaw bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
As Burns backs off Crenshaw throws a huge counter combo but Burns manages to avoid it all.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A good leg kick by Burns.
Burns misses with a hook. Crenshaw ducked under it nicely.
Crenshaw throws out a counter right but Burns avoids it with no problem.
Crenshaw scores with a nice head shot.
Crenshaw closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Crenshaw lands a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burns misses with a lunging right hand
and Crenshaw counters with a straight right hand.
Some bone on bone action there as Crenshaw checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Burns thows a leg kick but Crenshaw checks it
and Crenshaw counters with a nice uppercut.
Crenshaw walks into a left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bernard Crenshaw will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Montgomery Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Burns throws a combination that misses
and Crenshaw counters with a head kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Crenshaw!
Burns lands a lovely overhand right.
Crenshaw dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Burns staggers Crenshaw with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Crenshaw looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!


It looks like Bernard Crenshaw has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burns throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Burns throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Crenshaw to counter with a crisp jab.
Crenshaw thuds his shin into the meat of Burns's side.
Good standup being displayed there by Burns as he connects with a hook.
Crenshaw throws a low kick but it's checked well by Burns.
Crenshaw bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Burns's head backwards.
Burns misses with a leg kick.
Crenshaw throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Burns on the side of the head.
Crenshaw misses the shot to the body.
Burns throws an off balance right hand
and Crenshaw counters with a stiff right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Crenshaw lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A shot to the body from Crenshaw misses
and Burns counters with a low kick, right behind Crenshaw 's knee.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burns misses with a looping right.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Crenshaw! But no joy.
Burns missing with a left hand there. Crenshaw was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Burns feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Crenshaw's calf.
Crenshaw on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Burns jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Burns drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Crenshaw onto his butt! Crenshaw pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.


Crenshaw is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montgomery Burns dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Bernard Crenshaw's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Crenshaw has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Burns scores with the left hand. Crenshaw knows he should have avoided that one.
Burns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Crenshaw can do to turn this around?

Burns connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Crenshaw's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Crenshaw - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
