PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kim Czang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Jagodnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goran Jagodnik will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kim Czang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Goran Jagodnik!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jagodnik fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Czang sprawls well initially but Jagodnik persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jagodnik trying to control the action but Czang is working from the bottom.
Jagodnik wants to free his trapped foot but Czang is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jagodnik throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Czang to regain full guard.
Jagodnik looking to sit in guard and control but Czang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Czang pushes down on Jagodnik's leg and manages to get into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Well, if Czang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jagodnik has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Czang is working away from the top position though.
Jagodnik is looking to improve his position.
Czang performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jagodnik wants to sweep but Czang has passed to side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Jagodnik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jagodnik is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Czang content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jagodnik feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jagodnik looking to sit in guard and control but Czang gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Czang slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Czang is staying tight to Jagodnik's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Czang has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Jagodnik!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jagodnik tries to improve his position but instead Czang has taken his back!
Czang controlling the position well here. Jagodnik rolled but Czang kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Czang dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jagodnik moves to clinch but Czang breaks away

and Czang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jagodnik tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Czang manages to move to mount!
Czang controlling from the full mount.
Czang seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jagodnik for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jagodnik has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Czang has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Jagodnik's body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jagodnik can't escape the position.
Czang biding his time, looking for the opening.

Czang has managed to slip his arm under Jagodnik's chin. This could be all over... yep, Jagodnik is tapping out! Submission win for Czang.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kim Czang!
