Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Uriah Barnes (ranked 4305 p4p, 405 weight class) and Ryan McCarthy (ranked 2199 p4p, 241 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Me The Horizon - Can You Feel My Heart. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barnes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

McCarthy instigates a clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for McCarthy.
Barnes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
McCarthy lands a left hand.
McCarthy stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
McCarthy digs a right hand underneath Barnes's ribcage. Barnes let out a lung full of air as it connected.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Barnes lands a shoulder strike.
Barnes tries to break the clinch but McCarthy is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short body shot lands from McCarthy as the two fighters clinch.

Barnes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCarthy has him pressed against the cage.
Barnes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Barnes wants to get back to striking at distance but McCarthy won't allow it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

McCarthy lands a left hand that snaps the head of Barnes backwards.

McCarthy has Barnes pressed against the cage, preventing Barnes from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Barnes is trying to break the clinch but McCarthy is controlling him.

McCarthy keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Barnes's efforts to push away.
The referee is keeping an eye on McCarthy - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Barnes looks to throw the jab but McCarthy is out of range.
As Barnes backs off McCarthy throws a huge counter combo but Barnes manages to avoid it all.
McCarthy takes a jab right on the kisser.
McCarthy's corner calls for a 1-2. McCarthy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

McCarthy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Barnes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McCarthy scores with a one two! Barnes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Uriah Barnes has been cut.

Whack! McCarthy lands a heavy head kick that drops Barnes. The ref tackles McCarthy to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Barnes was done.
