The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez misses with a takedown attempt - McGallagher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McGallagher stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodriguez. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet.
Rodriguez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
McGallagher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rodriguez pinned against the cage. Rodriguez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rodriguez cracks McGallagher with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Rodriguez counters with a left and a right that stings McGallagher.

Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McGallagher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McGallagher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rodriguez misses with a few strikes there.
McGallagher tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Rodriguez gets underhooks to prevent McGallagher's takedown attempt.

McGallagher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rodriguez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
