The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moretti wants to clinch.

Moretti has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Vattalles is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Moretti keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Moretti just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vattalles's brow.
Moretti gets underhooks to prevent Vattalles's takedown attempt.

Vattalles has Moretti pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vattalles pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Moretti tumbling to the mat - Vattalles dives into Moretti's guard.
Vattalles not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Vattalles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Moretti for as long as he can get away with.

Vattalles has gone for a leg lock! Moretti slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vattalles's guard.

Vattalles is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
