The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damme fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Van Damme has managed to clinch.
Van Damme's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Van Damme's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Van Damme pulls guard.

Cooley drops back looking for a leg! Van Damme is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Van Damme manages to kick Cooley off! Cooley jumps back into Van Damme's guard.
Cooley throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Damme scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Cooley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Van Damme, pushing him back against the cage.

Cooley keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Van Damme's efforts to push away.
Cooley is trying to break free.

Cooley pulls guard effortlessly.
Cooley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cooley is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Van Damme stands up and waves to Cooley to follow him.
Cooley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Despite the aggression on Van Damme's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cooley wants to clinch.

Van Damme rushes Cooley and presses him up against the cage.
Cooley keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Van Damme's efforts to push away.

Cooley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Damme walks away with a smile on his face. Cooley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Van Damme scores with a head kick. Cooley tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Van Damme moves into the clinch successfully.

It looks like Clemente Cooley has been cut.

Cooley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Van Damme breaks from the clinch.
Fred Van Damme seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooley doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Van Damme counters with a one-two to the body.
Van Damme throws a head kick that Cooley semi-blocks.

Cooley is rocked!
Van Damme lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Cooley crumples to the floor! Van Damme milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
