These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Medrano!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Martinez goes for a double leg but Medrano avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Medrano continues to drive forward.
Medrano pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Medrano doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Martinez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martinez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Medrano sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martinez somewhat.
Medrano has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez throws a nice inside leg kick.
Medrano fails to land with a series of punches.

Medrano moves into the clinch.
Medrano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Medrano stops a takedown attempt from Martinez.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martinez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Medrano avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Martinez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Medrano is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Martinez to keep the fight standing.
Medrano prevents the takedown attempt.

Medrano decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Martinez wants to stand but Medrano has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Medrano has his feet on Martinez's thighs here. He's pushed Martinez off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Martinez screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
