Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pernell Whitaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pernell Whitaker!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whitaker moves into range and clinches up with Battle.

Battle manages to pull guard.
Whitaker stops Battle from standing up.
Whitaker distracts Battle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Whitaker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Battle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Whitaker has Battle in his guard.

Whitaker is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Battle is looking to work some ground and pound but Whitaker has wrist control.

Battle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Pernell Whitaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Whitaker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Battle, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Battle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Whitaker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Greg Battle has been cut.
Battle tries for a takedown but Whitaker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
