Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Bright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Riley!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Riley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bright scores with a takedown into Riley's guard.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.

Riley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bright throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Riley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Riley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bright with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Riley wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bright postures up in Riley's guard and throws a big left but Riley blocks it.

Bright distracts Riley with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Riley wants to get back to his feet but Bright is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bright postures up in Riley's guard and throws a big left but Riley blocks it.
Riley is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Riley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bright landing some decent shots from guard.
Bright really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Riley trying to keep a closed guard but Bright is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bright wanted to stand there but Riley had control of the position.
Bright missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riley wants to sweep here but Bright controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A chopping leg kick lands by Riley.
Riley digs a good body shot into Bright's ribs.
Riley shoots in looking for a takedown but Bright manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Riley closes the distance and clinches.
Riley keeps control of Bright as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bright looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Riley wants a takedown.
Bright looking for a takedown.
Bright working hard to break the clinch.
Bright has Riley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Riley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Come on Riley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Riley looking to throw knees to the head but Bright is blocking nicely.
Bright is trying to break the clinch but Riley is controlling him.
Bright is trying to break free.

Bright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Riley takes the fight into the clinch.
Bright is looking to break free of the clinch but Riley has double underhooks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bright tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cedric Bright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A nice right hand lands inside from Riley.

Bright is fighting off a takedown attempt but Riley is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bright to the mat. Bright regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jake Riley will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Riley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Riley closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bright's guard.

Riley wants to control from the top but Bright keeps moving.

Bright looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Riley is defending well. Bright quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Riley has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bright celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
