Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Shahen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cory Dillon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Dillon misses.
Shahen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Shahen dodges the punch combination from Dillon.
Dillon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shahen throws a big counter combination but Dillon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Shahen throws a head kick but Dillon moves out of range.
Dillon is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dillon shoots and misses

and Shahen counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Dillon down! Shahen is looking to finish but Dillon is intelligently defending himself.


Dillon is rocked!
Shahen won't allow Dillon to get back to his feet.
Dillon is still in real trouble! Can Shahen finish him?
Shahen looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shahen's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Shahen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Shahen wants to stand but Dillon is controlling his posture from full guard.
Shahen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shahen trying to control but Dillon is working from the bottom.
Dillon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shahen is controlling him.
Dillon seems to have recovered his senses.
Dillon has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Dillon wants to get back to his feet but Shahen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Shahen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dillon, up you get!
Dillon misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Shahen counters with a left right combination that sends Dillon crashing to the mat - Shahen wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Dillon out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Shahen!
An out of breath Joe Shahen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Cory Dillon stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like a rematch to prove this loss was a fluke!'.
