Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Takamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Punchy McPunchface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takamura comes to the cage accompanied by Pay Money To My Pain - Weight Of My Pride. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPunchface lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
McPunchface lands a head shot.
Takamura will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Takamura attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Takamura takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mamoru Takamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McPunchface cracks Takamura with a right hand to the side of the head.

It looks like Punchy McPunchface has been cut.
Takamura tries to clinch there but McPunchface circles away.
McPunchface connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Takamura lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and McPunchface has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from McPunchface and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McPunchface has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Takamura looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And McPunchface tries to counter it with a takedown but Takamura pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McPunchface cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

McPunchface wants to control the pace but Takamura is squirming around nicely.

McPunchface lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Takamura tries to roll but McPunchface sticks to his back.
McPunchface has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - McPunchface's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

McPunchface cracks Takamura with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Takamura from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Takamura looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Takamura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McPunchface on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McPunchface fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Takamura to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Takamura looks to clinch but McPunchface throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Takamura taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
