Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy Ashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gio Roma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roma throws a shot to the body.
Ashley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ashley drives through and clinches with Roma against the cage.
Roma keeps control of Ashley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Roma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Roma throws a combination. Ashley tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Billy Ashley has been cut.
Roma dives in and scores a takedown into Ashley's guard.
Roma controls from within his opponent's guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Roma wants to stand but Ashley is controlling his posture from full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Roma has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ashley uses from the top position.

Roma throws a shot to the body.
Ashley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roma's guard.

Roma pushes Ashley off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Ashley counters by clinching up.
Roma's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roma throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ashley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Roma fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ashley, pushing him back against the cage.

Roma lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Gio Roma is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ashley is looking to clinch but Roma is avoiding it.
Despite the aggression on Roma's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ashley wants to clinch but Roma slips to the side
and Roma connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Roma throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ashley.
Ashley tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Roma manages to circle out of the way.

Ashley isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Roma stacks Ashley on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Roma!

Gio Roma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Roma has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
