The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgartner with a poor takedown
and Owen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Marcus Baumgartner has been cut.
Baumgartner fails with the takedown.
Baumgartner doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Owen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
James Owen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Baumgartner.
Baumgartner shoots for a double leg takedown but Owen sprawls well. He's pushed Baumgartner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Owen throwing a counter right hand but Baumgartner manages to avoid it.
Owen sends Baumgartner crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Owen is motioning to the referee to let Baumgartner up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Baumgartner is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Baumgartner misses with a takedown attempt
and Owen counters with a huge left! Baumgartner is in big trouble! He's backing up but Owen isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Baumgartner from any more damage. A dominating finish by Owen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Owen!
A relieved looking James Owen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
