Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tolo Seia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seia comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Limp Bizkit - Thieves kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Henry Ellis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Henry Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 34 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tolo Seia!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Ellis.
Ellis swings for the body but Seia moves out of range.
Ellis lands a slapping body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ellis is defended easily by Seia.
Ellis throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Seia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Seia looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Seia pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ellis looks for a takedown but Seia sprawls well.
Ellis takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Seia swings for the body but Ellis moves out of range.

Ellis drives through with a takedown into Seia's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Seia kicks Ellis off and gets to his feet.
Ellis is breathing heavily.
Ellis tries to clinch but Seia moves out of range.
Seia replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Ellis blocks it well.
Ellis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ellis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ellis takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Seia throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Seia misses the jab.
Seia lands a jab.

Ellis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Seia tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ellis is in Seia's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Seia has Ellis pulled in close to control his posture.
Ellis stops Seia from standing up.
Seia keeping moving, preventing Ellis from controlling successfully.

Seia looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Ellis wants to stand but Seia has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ellis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Seia throws out the jab.

Ellis shoots in looking for a takedown. Seia tries to sprawl out of it but Ellis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Seia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Seia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ellis shoots in for a double leg but Seia sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fighters circle momentarily. Seia darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Seia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ellis was well out of range. Poor timing from Seia.
Ellis moves away from the strike by Seia.
Ellis lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Ellis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ellis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Seia sprawls well. Seia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tolo Seia dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Seia throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ellis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Seia misses with a wild body shot.
Seia throws a shot from downtown. Ellis moves away and avoids it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ellis.
Ellis tries to clinch up.
Ellis shoots in for a takedown but Seia shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ellis thinks about countering with a head kick.
Seia punishes Ellis's body with a nice straight punch.
Tolo Seia seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ellis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Seia connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ellis scrambles back to his feet.
Henry Ellis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Seia missing with a left hand there. Ellis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ellis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Seia swivels and escapes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ellis tries to counter by clinching up but Seia breaks away and moves out of range.

Seia connects with a body shot that sends Ellis's belly button to the back.

Seia is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Henry Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Seia tries to land a front kick but Ellis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Ellis dives in and grabs Seia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Seia pushes down on Ellis's head and hops out.

Ellis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Seia tries to avoid it but Ellis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Seia to the ground. Seia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ellis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Seia circles away.

Tolo Seia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Seia throws out a loose jab but Ellis uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ellis dives in for a single leg takedown but Seia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Ellis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Seia is not content to let Ellis control the position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Tolo Seia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Seia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
