The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Wall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mayer did well to prevent Wall getting side control.
Wall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Wall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mayer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wall has managed to get both his arms back between Mayer's legs - danger averted.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wall cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mayer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wall dives on top into guard.
